Description
My second try on designing a mold for Pokemon. As I look through all Pokemon related models on Printables, I found Gengar very suitable to be made soft and bouncy using silicone. It has two pouring holes (under Gengar's foot), and three vent holes at left hand, right hand, and tail. I added a little bit of purple coloring(for silicone use) , just like Gengar's coloring. The mold needs nearly 250g of silicone to make a full-sized Gengar. The mold has shallow trench at left, right, and bottom edges between mold_a and mold_b. The trench is for filling clay to seal the gaps between molds and also for demolding using wedge-shaped tool. To make a good Gengar with no leak and bubble, you should: use clay to seal the gaps between mold_a and mold_b wrap mold_a and mold_b together using tape, to prevent mold from separating degassing silicone before pouring is necessary use funnel when pouring is necessary. Please pour only at one of the two pouring holes. Leave another hole as exit. When demolding, use a flat head screw driver to remove clay from the trench, and slowly pry the mold from many spots. You may need several flat head screw driver bits to pry multiple spots at same time. Please be patient and do not apply too much force, as the mold is not made out of metal. Future improvements: Make demolding easier and make less damage to the mold by adding some nut and bolts or levers Adjust mating surface to make demolding easier Mold eyes and mouth separately to make the product more colorful
