Description
3D Printed Singing Santa - For Seeds 03/06/2026 - Version 1 I have had many requests to make the Singing Santa using seeds. After a long haul/wait, I'm done! It is designed like all the other props but for seeds (lots of seeds). It is a "remake" of the "Santa - Improved!" model and is essentially the same but to be used with seeds. The seed hole is different than the seed holes on my other props I have created for seeds thus far. I think it is more robust. The model is made to hold what appears to be the more common 3 three wire pixels and to be safe with 4" spacing. If you are using larger pixels, I might suggest you use the back side of the prop as the larger pixels won't fit in the depressed hole but with limited testing seem to work well if the pixels are on the back. I have not printed this as of yet. I will print it and update the project with a picture. If you do print this before I do, I would be very interested in seeing your work and any suggestions for improvements. While I have looked at the pieces and ensured they fit on a printer, I can't promise there isn't any errors. Please let me know if there is and I will correct as quickly as I can. Description: It is composed of 51 separate pieces. (there are 2 test pieces used to test print and don't attach to Santa). Most pieces are 6mm thick with a 2mm thick raised edge that is 10mm high. This has proven to be plenty strong through several New York Winters. Its approximate size is 1330mm wide x 1444mm high (53in x 57in). (unchanged) It holds 388 seeds. I know it is a lot of pieces and may be complex to put together. This is the most complex one I have created yet. I hope it is worth the effort! Printer: Each piece is sized to fit on an Ender 5 Pro printing bed (they fit in a 220x220 bed). Should be able to at least print several pieces at one time but this won't always be the case. I created the small "test pieces" so you could set up printer without wasting much material. The two test pieces will allow you to trial your dove tail fit. Just a reminder - This prop is created from my "Improved" version of Santa. You do not need to fiddle with any of the "compensation" and "compression" settings that was required in the past! XLights: There is an Xlights custom model provided for this prop. Faces and Submodels are defined. My approach to wiring props usually isn't the best. If you are good at laying out wiring diagrams and submodel creation I would be happy to share your work! Updated:
