Description
This is a slim, portable laptop stand designed to improve ergonomics without adding bulk to a backpack. The stand is just 8 mm thick and raises the entire base of the laptop by about 70 mm. Unlike many laptop stands that only lift the back edge, this design elevates the full base, which improves airflow and creates a more comfortable viewing angle, especially when used with an external keyboard. The parts were designed in Fusion 360 with 3D printing in mind. The geometry is optimized so the stand can be printed on smaller printers by splitting it into multiple parts that assemble afterward. During the design process, the hole geometry had to be adjusted so that vertical circular holes would print cleanly without drooping. The final design also incorporates stress analysis from Fusion 360 to better place material where it is needed for strength while keeping the overall structure lightweight. Assembly uses 3 mm steel rods cut to length, which connect the printed parts and provide structural rigidity while maintaining the slim profile.
