Description
BikeCyclist's Improved Auto Coin Sorter is a great model: https://www.printables.com/model/53272-improved-auto-coin-sorter But I had some issues during printing and during operating the coin slide. So I made the following changes: changed diameter of some Euro coins to prevent coins from getting stuck on the previous coin's hole and to prevent coins from jumping their designated hole prevent compile warning by adding dummy parameter to module add ribs in bottom of top board to hold the rack better in place, this prevents coin jams (see cover photo for comparison of original (top) and modified (bottom) version) better vertical line-up of back guard (originally it was 4 or 5 print layers height difference) All changes are marked in the source code with the string “AF:” and a short explanation. Just search for this string to find the modifications. Only points 1 and 3 are real improvements to the functionality of the model, the other modifications were just made because I was already changing the code anyway. Apart from these small modifications the original Coin Sorter is a great model. I printed it for the birthday of one niece, and it was so popular I had to print another one for my other niece. Update 2023-01-25: I uploaded the modified topboard STL for Euro. It fits onto the original Euro basebox and tuberack. The total length of the modified topboard is the same as the original topboard, some coin holes are a bit bigger, others a bit smaller, the changes cancel each other out. I did not bother to generate a modified tuberack, the original was working fine as is. (Sorry.) If someone finds the time to generate the tuberack from my modified coin diameters and compare that to the original tuberack, then please comment if it still works as expected.
