Snap-in Lids for Desktop Dumpster

2025-01-31 UPDATE As noted in the comments, this snap-fit increases the risk of breaking a hinge on the dumpster. I recommend pressing in toward the edge of the dumpster so that it doesn't stress the hinge in a direction that is susceptible to breaking. I have not had a broken hinge using this method in the 20+ times I've added/swapped lids. Print Settings Use the same ones you used for the dumpster and it should be fine. Supports may help the overhang on the lid, but the gap is so small that I haven't seen much difference between supported/unsupported. Adjustment If it seems too tight, you can trim/sand/file/gnaw the point on one end to give yourself some room. I printed these in PLA and PETG without any issues for either.
