Description
I encountered small issues using heavy 2kg spools with the MK4S extruder and MMU3 addon, when the spools sat on the enclosure spool holders. Even 1kg spools with cardboard sides did not feel right as the significant friction caused some jumping of the spools. To address this, I designed a snap-on bearing for the existing spool holder. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media The standard bearing is 76 mm long and fits all the spools I’ve used. Additionally, I created a 133 mm version for 2kg spool holder ( Link ). Since these bearings need to be printed vertically, I noticed challenges with part deformation or poor adhesion. To resolve this, I included printing aids that stabilize the part during printing. These aids are easy to remove after the print is complete. Happy smooth printing! 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media
