Description
This is a sock rail for the Hills Hoist 6 Line Rotary Collapsible Clothesline (SKU 80150753) commonly available in Australia. It is likely to work with other variants of the Hills Hoist rotary collapsible clotheslines. The official Hills Hoist sock rail is no longer available for purchase (and when it was available, Hills Hoist charged substantially more for it in Australia than in other markets), so I designed my own. With this you can hang many small items (socks, underwear, baby clothes, wash cloths) in the gaps between each "finger" without the need for pegs. This saves pegs, time and line space. The length is optimised to be printed along the diagonal of a 256x256mm build plate. The hooks should be printed flat faces (sides) down for strength. ASA filament is recommended for UV stability. IMPORTANT: The print is designed to be solvent welded . Print the parts in ASA. Use a dripper to add two or three drops of high purity acetone or methyl ethyl ketone inside the receiving niche of the hook. Firmly insert the rail and agitate it slightly to churn the surface to ensure a bond. Optionally, clamp the assembly together. Allow the material to dry and set for 5 minutes or so.
