Description
This is an extension for the Soyo M2 PLUS mini PC providing more space inside the device. I specifically desiigned this to be used for a second NVMe-drive enabling the Soyo to work as a small NAS with 2 M.2 NVMe SSDs for storage and 1 2.5" SATA SSD for the OS. To do so, i removed the WIFI card (i left in the antennas - was too lazy to fully disassemble the PC) and bought a cheap "NGFF M.2 Key M to Key A+E Adapter" like the one in the Screenshot i attached (I specifically bought this one: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005010369851619.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.41.676a1802FBkci7&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu -- the other one i tried did not work, watch out for the reviews of the adapter!). Plug the adapter into the WIFI card slot beneath the original NVMe slot, then install the first NVMe drive on top of the adapter. Then simply clip the NVMe extension board into the 3d printed part and install the second NVMe into the extension board. The 3d part leaves enough space to install a beefy heatsink to the NVMe ssd. Next mount the 3d printed part to the top part of the housing using the original screws and finally clip in the original bottom cover into the 3d printed part. I printed mine using transparent PETG just to be on the safe side concerning temperatures.
