Description

Case for traveling with your Space Mushroom (SM). Also includes new base with extra grips. I do not think it fits any other version of the Space Mushroom other than Kempy's version, but I'm including the Freecad source, so if you want to modify it, enjoy. Print upside down, no supports needed. I found that under use, I had to install a non-slip silicone base on the bottom of the Space Mushroom. The case has an extra 2mm extra at the bottom in the case to accommodate. If you prefer to use the bare Space Mushroom, you will need to trim 2mm from the bottom of the case. Silicone Furniture Pads, 5" x 40" Non Slip Furniture Pads https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4J58LKG?th=1 (I make no money from this link.) To those who want to experiment and modify: Didn't make this one parametric, it was quick and dirty, but it's a simple model. Case is friction fit, I originally thought it would need some round nubs to hold the SM in, but the nubs were entirely too much, and I had to create the Removal Tool to get the SM out of the case (oops). I have left the nubs in the model (suppressed), but 0.2 height is way too much. I made this using the RealThunder Freecad fork. https://github.com/realthunder/FreeCAD/releases/tag/20241003stable Should probably work in Freecad 1.x with limited complaints, but I haven't tested it. Finally, if you do the steel balls kempy remix, add some silicone/dielectric grease to the joysticks and the balls, it really improves the feel from prototype to well polished product.
