Description

Enhance your filament storage and organisation with this 3D printed spool roller, designed with a versatile and modular approach. The interlocking mechanism is discreet, with no protrusions, ensuring a sleek and efficient setup. This roller is adaptable for virtually all spool widths. For Key Features: The interlocking feature is composed of a negative part within the holder and a dumbbell-shaped pin, allowing multiple holders to connect seamlessly. Available for spool widths from 40mm to 100mm. For very heavy spools, consider printing two smaller holders and locking them together for extra support. Equipped with four countersunk 4mm wood screw holes for securing it to a surface, providing additional stability if needed. Uses classic 608 bearings The bearings fit snugly into the bearing slot, preventing the rollers from revolving without the bearing's support. The model consists of three parts – the roller base, the roller (to be printed twice), and the interlocking pin – making it easy to customise and expand your spool storage. Printing Recommendations: Material : PETG or PLA for durability and stability. Layer Height : 0.2mm. Infill : Cubic or Adaptive Cubic infill, between 20% and 25%, for optimal strength and material usage. Perimeters : A minimum of 3 perimeters is recommended for increased strength. Size Specifications : The specified size of the model refers to the size of the spool it is designed for, not the size of the final holder. For example, the file for 40mm spools has a usable roller area of 42mm, but the actual holder is 78.2mm wide. Print Parts : Print the roller base, the roller twice, and as many interlocking pins as you need. Pins : The dumbbell-shaped pins are quite small, and since their final fit is related to the precision of the printer and filament available, they are provided with 3 different clearances. Test print them first and see which pin is better fitted to connect the holders. Print Orientation : The rollers should be printed with supports and also upright to achieve better precision.
