Hello sports and music fans, combine your passion for both by showing off your favorite sport with one of these smooth and elegantly curved knobs. For the single piece set each has its own 🌀 wormhole styled base suited to its sport. Easy printing with no supports needed. Choose from the following sports: ⚽ Football (Soccer): featuring a spiral base design yielding a World Cup ambiance 🏀 Basketball: supported by a mesh-like lattice resembling the hoop net ⚾ Baseball: resting on top of criss-crossing bat-like cylinders 🎾 Tennis: sitting on top of wavy grass like filaments ⛳ Golf: propped up by linear curved rods echoing golf clubs 🏈 Football (American): like a vortex of air around an in flight football, a spiral base of columns 🏐 Volleyball: held by a mesh-like lattice resembling the volleyball net 🏉 Rugby: a base featuring vibrations from the shock of thundering rugby tackles 🏏 Cricket: elevated by groups of curved triplet wickets. YES YOU CAN!. I provide separate models for the ball top part and bottom knob base. You can mix and match to your desire. All together over 100+ knob combinations possible. The top and bottom connect with a small BoxPeg piece. The design of the knobs leveraged a number of previous designs. Rather than reinvent the sports ball models (given more time I could), I remixed the useful models from Superprinter, RedKrieg, Larkin Dunlop, dernst, Nils 3d druck, amprint, and Auzziebogan26. The rugby, cricket, and ping pong balls I had to design myself. The ping pong ball was especially challenging to model (wink wink). For the base I took inspiration and remixed my previously published wormhole themed ball holder models. The results yield a trophy like appearance that is pleasant to hold and look at. I hope you enjoy. Additional printing tips: No brim needed, but might help if you are print more than one ball tops. I was able to print single color in both PLA and TPU with 0.2mm layer heights, 15% infill and either 0.4mm or 0.6mm nozzles. I speculate an easy multi-color print (for single piece versions) would require a single filament change at the height where the base ends. Better yet use the two piece versions. For spiral base versions you can have different rotation by using mirror in slicer The alternate Cricket ball variant with vertical alignment provides a better place to hide the z-seam by using Smart Hiding option in the slicer. The BoxPeg can be scaled in slicer to achieve a better fit in case it is too loose or too tight. It is also to be printed long side touching build plate for best strength.
