Please give this a like if you enjoy it! It will help me make more of them. This is a replacement for the TPU block that is used to hold the reed in. You can use any material with this spring style block. Tested in PLA and PETG, they both work great. The original duck call is fantastic, get it here: https://www.printables.com/model/1267695-fully-3d-printed-working-duck-call/comments The FreeCAD file is included so you can modify and see how it was made. A really cool method was used, a simple centerline section of the Z was drawn. The sketch is unclosed so impossible to extrude. A shape binder was made of the sketch, and the offset in the data section was set to .4 for a total thickness of .8mm. To my surprise it made a closed section and it was extrudable! UPDATE 01: A combined reed and locking spring has been uploaded. This prints without supports and eliminates the need for the locking part. Just insert the reed and it is finished! Designed for printing at a .15 layer height. Print without supports. Tested in ASA - it works awesome. A FreeCAD file is included as well as the STL. UPDATE 02: V2 of the FreeCAD file was uploaded. It can now be very easily modified by anyone who installs FreeCAD. The new images explain what values in the spreadsheet to modify to make the spring tighter. Just the first value should suffice. Uploaded a new spring that is .4mm taller for a tighter fit. The spring will sag at this point depending on your filament, sprint speed, fan speed, temp, layer height, layer width and the phase of the moon! ;)
