Description
I, along with half the Universe, love the Hadley telescope design. However, I found it is a bit ‘wobbly’ in its original design to I redesigned the altitude bearings with greatly improve performance. Being this is a light weight telescope (the bane of all small telescopes) it doesn't have a lot of problems with friction so the plastic-on-plastic moving surfaces works well. The telescope can be moved by hand easily, but will hold its position well when released. #10 machine screws and nuts used for assembly #8 wood screws used to attach OTA to Dobsonian-ish mount PLA or PETG No supports needed 0.20 layer height for smoother bearing surfaces Assembly is pretty straight forward. Pressure from cap mounting screws is adjusted to get right ‘feel’ of friction.
