Description
“Its profile resembled the T65B X-wings she'd flown with Alphabet, but its foils and thrusters were unexpectedly slender and its canopy extended farther over the nose." [From Alphabet Squadron: Victory's Price , Chapter 18] The T70 X-Wing appeared in The Force Awakens , The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker . T70s are best known as the Resistance's primary starfighter, a role in which they excelled despite their age. First prototypes were built during the galactic civil war for the New Republic, where T70s served until their replacement by newer designs like the T85 X-Wing. This is a model at 1:270 scale. I had to increase the thickness of the wings and cannons to make them less brittle. The wings are print-in-place and can move ~15°. (The wings on a T70 don't open as far as on a T65.) They are printed at 10°, between open and closed. The mechanism for the wings was mostly taken from my T65 X-Wing model. Adding it to a T70 was more difficult than expected because the body and wings of a T70 are quite thin. It can be used with a small pin and base . If you want to use a base, print the version with peg. Print Instructions Printed at 0.1mm layer height with supports on buildplate. Add “T70_x_wing_blocker” as a support blocker. (In PrusaSlicer: Right Click on the model → Add Support Blocker → Load… → Select “T70_x_wing_blocker.stl”) The cannons on can cause stringing. Be carefull when removing the supports. The engines and the back of the cannons can break off easily. If you want to support me, you can do so via this link: https://ko-fi.com/printingdaniel# UPDATE: Made the wings a bit stronger and changed the support blocker to make removing supports easier
