Description
It’s my Reddit cake day, and I’m finally sharing something I’ve been using for almost a year : my custom-designed, reusable TPU cable ties . After trying dozens of designs, none of them quite hit the mark. I wanted a cable tie that: stays on the cable when not in use locks securely but is easy to release prints fast with minimal filament , and works with flexible filament like TPU So I designed one from scratch — and after a year of use across USB, HDMI, UTP, and power cables, this design has proven itself. FEATURES: Stay-on loop : Attach it once to the cable and it stays with it Angled locking tab : Slides in easily, holds tight, but still releases smoothly Flexible & efficient : Works great with TPU; small version uses just 1.22g filament No supports or brim needed USB CABLE TIES: Model nameMax bundle circumference CableTie_USB_70mm.stl 70 mm CableTie_USB_90mm.stl 90 mm For USB and other thin cables THICK CABLE TIES: Model nameMax bundle circumference CableTie_ThickCable_140mm.stl 140 mm CableTie_ThickCable_190mm.stl 190 mm CableTie_ThickCable_280mm.stl 280 mm CableTie_ThickCable_300mm.stl 300 mm For HDMI, UTP, and power cables ⚠ Note : The number in the filename refers to the maximum cable bundle circumference the tie can handle, not the tie’s physical length. PRINT SETTINGS: Material: TPU or another flexible filament ( required ) Slicer settings: Layer height: 0.2 mm Walls: 2 Top layers: 5 (Monotonic Line) Bottom layers: 3 (Monotonic) Infill: 15% Gyroid Avoid crossing walls: ✅ Supports / brim: ❌ Not needed
