Description
This is a near identical reproduction of the battery cover for the Story Telling Alf stuffed animal with cassette player. I could not find an appropriate C size dual battery contact replacement. The dual contacts with negative terminal springs are too tall and prevent the cover from closing. The battery contacts in this 3D model are designed to allow the user to use either heavy-duty tin foil or copper tape as the battery contact plate. Heavy tin foil will require it be glued in place. I recommend contact cement. Copper tape typically has good adhesive on one side. Cut the tin foil or copper tape to the proper size prior to trying to place it. One placed, try and make it as smooth and air bubble free as possible. FYI - The ridge around the battery contact and the bumps in the contact area are designed to prevent batteries that are placed in backwards from making connection. This prevents electrical damage to electronics. I printed with PLA+ and it works very well. You will need to allow supports and the supports around the U-shaped latches will be difficult to remove. Go slow and gentle to prevent breaking them. When inserting or removing the cover press down on the flat area before using the locking latches to open to compartment. This will help prevent breaking the latches.
