Support-Free Travel Phone Mount for Airplane Tray Table

Update 12/21/2025 - Added an assembly guide! Inspired by SquidgyPlastic's design . I designed this model from scratch, aiming to alleviate a few of the issues I found with their design. This version fits phones with a width of 86.5mm or less. You will need the following hardware: M3 x 12mm Screw - 2x M3 x 16mm Screw - 1x* M3 x 20mm Screw - 1x* M3 Heat-Set Inserts - 4x M3 Nuts - 3x * You can replace the 16mm and 20mm screws with a single 35mm screw for the hinge, if desired. If you want to order the same parts I used, please see below (not affiliated, but I can't guarantee other brands will fit correctly). These are the screws I used These are the heat-set inserts I used Assembly Instructions: Insert M3 nuts into thumbscrews - they only fit on one side (3x) Force the 12mm and 20mm screws into the other side of the thumbscrews. It's a tight fit, and you may need to go from the other direction first to loosen up the plastic. Tighten the screws until very snug. Insert M3 Heat-Set inserts into the two slider tightening holes, and two in the hinge. Insert the single hinge into the dual hinge so the holes line up. Insert the thumbscrew with the 20mm screw into the right side of the hinge Insert the bare 16mm screw into the left side of the hinge. Assemble remaining pieces (see pictures for reference)
