Description
This is more of a DIY/How-To... I wanted both lamps to be lit on my bike. Easiest was to mount 2.5 inch Aliexpress LED projectors with H1 bulbs. Was lucky enough to get my hands a extra complete headlight assembly. Baked it in oven at 90 degrees celcius for 10 minutes, pulled it apart and gutted the inside. Drilled out H1 socket in right reflector to get LED projector mounted, whipped up some shrouds in Tinkercad including T10 LED bulb that I removed socket from. Sanded and bodyfiller shrouds to make them looking good and painted them mat black. Shrouds was printed in Elegoo PETG with 5 bottom/top and 3 walls, Shrouds are fasten with countersunk M3 bolts just drilled into shrouds. More manual labour than print, but worth it in the end. Results was amazing and it looks very good, Updated with pictures after fitting headlight onto bike. Please note, lights are white! They are not blue, my Google Pixel 9 clearly want them to be blue, they are NOT blue! To be honest, this was probably the coolest mod I have done to this bike. Found this bike in 2020, after it had been standing in a shed for 12 years. Did total rebulid including cylinders, pistons, head, camshafts and carbs to fit 750ccm. It was original a 600ccm. Engine is same between 600 and 750, just cylinders, pistons and such is different. Same enginecase, same conrods, same gearbox with identical ratios. Also put in a GSXR1000 K1 rear shock and Showa cartridges in front dampers. Bike was black, with rusted tank. Got hold of 750ccm crashed bike, fairing and such is from that. 40% of fairing on right side is 3D printed and plasticwelded into original fairing. Filler, sanded and painted with rattlecans. Black tinted LED indicators front and back, black tinted rear tail light, cut off rear fender and 3D printed holder for licenseplate, indicators and numberplate light. Wheels are sandblasted and powdercoated white.
