Description
Went ahead and modelled a rearview mirror mod for the Suzuki Swift Sport ZC33s, (it might fit certain jimny models as well because I think they use the same mount) to get the mirror higher up in the car making it block less of my view. I also included some 3d scans of the OEM mount, as well as the cover which i broke slightly, there are som clips in the front that snapped. A minor problem with this print is the tolerance for the ball head, I was experimenting with different sizing for it to fit snuggly in the mirror but still make it resonable to get out without breaking anything, for me I ended up printing a 14.7 diameter ball which was a little smaller when it was printed, but you're most likely going to have to experiment so I included the original fusion f3d file + step file for convenience. For extracting the mirror out of the original mount, i loosened it from the car, lossened the screw at the back. Then took 2 of the wedges (STL file included) and gently pressed them together from two sides, around the mount, then gently wacked the wedges with a rubber mallet until it popped out. Material needed M3 30mm button head screw M3 Heat insert, 4 to 7mm long Soldering iron or similar for melting the Insert into place Rubber mallet Screwdriver, think it was philips ph 2 or 3. Print settings Printed this temporarily with PLA at 100% infill, it's been 6 months and its been solid so haven't bothered to reprint it, but originally the plan was to print it in ASA-CF.
