Description

The Sydney Harbour Bridge model was designed in Fusion 360 taking the dimensions off a photograph of what appeared to be a historic drawing found on the internet. This model was specifically designed to fit trains such as Brio or many other wooden train sets. It connects straight onto existing tracks/rails and integrates into existing sets. 'Bridge Deck Female' and 'Bridge Deck Male' have to be glued together, too long to print in one. No support needed for the male however support is required for the female part, the stepped part is oriented downwards in both cases. For each end of the bridge you will need two 'pylon' halves which will need to be glued together making use of the aligning pins, these parts do not require support. Print two each 'Harbour Bridge Arch Left' and 'Harbour Bridge Arch Right', no supports. Right and left have to be glued together, the pins which may need a bit of trimming ensure that the arch is aligned properly. The two arches are glued to the assembled bridge deck, this assembly can then be glued onto the two completed support pylons. I have used CA glue for all joints. Finally print the two ramps- I aligned them on the print bed standing on their sides with support turned on to print the rail grooves. I hope your kids and grand kids have as much fun playing with this as mine do.
