Description
Based on a remix of the original dice tower (original by @aclugston519 , remixed by @Nyctalops ), I've extended the opening of the dice tower base and slightly lengthened the ramps on the bottom to help the dice not to get stuck inside of the tower, as that seemed to be the major complaint in the comments. But I didn't like the idea of the tower base being stretched and wanted to keep the appearance of all the “bricks” uniform, so I simply added two rings of bricks to push everything up by ~ 1cm. The height of the base pillars is larger than that of the tray now and I would've preferred to lengthen the arch instead, but I'm still new to 3D modeling so this was the extent of my skill. I've also followed the angle and fillet of the existing ramps more closely, which looks nicer imho but at the expense of not extending the ramps as much. I've simplified the original mesh in FreeCAD a bit to make it easier to work with, but I see no discernible loss of detail in the printed part compared to the other parts. I've left a few objects unmerged too as I kept getting errors when trying to merge them, but the slicer doesn't seem to be bothered by it (not PrusaSlicer at least). The dice can still sometimes stop at the very entrance of the dice tray, and I've had a d6 and a d4 rest in a corner of the ramp itself when rolling a bunch of them, but it still appears to be mostly consistent. I'll try to sand the ramp down to a smooth surface to see if it mitigates that issue. Maybe someone will get inspired to combine these two remixes and make the best of both designs. Or maybe I'll revisit this one day when I've upped my skill. Relevant links: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4542200 (original) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5255042 (remix inspiration)
