Tarmo 5 Main Gear Weight Reduction

These are some weight reduced gears I modified from the original gear design after looking in to printing the main gear and pinion in metal. This weight reduction knocked off almost $100 from the original quote on PCBWay. In theory these should be just fine printed in plastic. There is a 4mm band in the center between the center mount and gear teeth. Using the weight reduced gear with holes and identical settings I shaved off 4g (44g to 40g) in filament according to Cura. Nearly a 10% weight savings. I have not tried these in my own Tarmo 5 yet. I'm still waiting for my current main gear to wear out before swapping.
