Description

This plane is designed to be printed directly onto thin tissue paper (17gsm) to produce a lightweight glider. Printing tips: To hold the tissue paper to build plate, I used thin 2mm magnets (mine were 30x10x2mm, but they can be smaller). Taller magnets may collide with the nozzle during travel movements. The heated bed must be turned off as cheap magnets often lose their strength with heat. So PLA filament is also recommended. I setup custom g-code to pause the print after bed calibration to allow time to secure the paper, but I also found it works fine to hit pause just after calibration and before the print. Print the fuselage with 100% infill to ensure the nose weight is correct. Parts can be glued together with CA glue. More examples of planes I've build using this technique:
