Description

Description A simple handle sized to fit your top cover. I do not have my cover affixed to the printer using the rivets, so I can access the extruder easily. I needed a handle to grab the cover off easily when needed. Printing Print it on the side using standard print settings. 2-3 perimeters, 3-4 top and bottom layers, infill as desired. If you are actively heating your CORE ONE chamber, the top cover could get fairly warm. In those cases, I would avoid PLA for printing and instead suggest PETG. It's probably fine with PLA, though. You've been warned. Because I like doing things on hard mode sometimes. I printed mine in the picture using Prusament PC Blend filament. The is absolutely overkill, and I do not recommend it. Assembly I rebuilt the bolt holes to use Prusa-standard bolts. You will need two M3-18 bolts, and two M3 hex nuts. the bolt goes up through the plexi panel and then into the handle. The hex nuts are dropped in from the top and then the bolt grabs them from below. NOTE: you will need to decide which bolt style you use! In my case, I was using the standard Prusa Socket Head Cap Screw (SHCS) bolts. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media The consequence of this choice is that the top cover would not sit flush on the top of the machine. My choice in this case was to drill out the hole below the top cover where the head of the screw could pass through. I used a 6mm drill to open up the hole. this also aligns the cover to the top of the machine a bit more, for what that is worth. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media To avoid drilling, I have a couple suggestions: Use a bolt with a much slimmer cap. I am not sure where you might find those. Additionally, add a foam strip around the perimeter where the cover sits so there's a small lift to the cover and reduce/eliminate interference. Finally, use a flat cap screw, and countersink the underside of the plexi to "sink" the screw into the plastic. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media I did not choose to countersink the plastic, mostly because I don't trust myself to do it properly. I will never reattach my plexiglass top cover. You can get the screws here, but I don't know how well they will work: https://www.amazon.com/M3-0-5-Socket-Stainless-Machine-Fasteners/dp/B0949H1NHB Good luck. We are all counting on you.
