Description
This is a base for the STANDARD SIZE spool holder found in the following link: https://www.printables.com/model/497432-standard-xl-and-xxl-self-centering-filament-spool- No need to reprint anything, works with existing spool holders. Settings I used for the print: .20mm Layer Heights (I am not sure how the .10mm deboss will behave with anything other than .20mm layers. 2 Perimeters 2 Top Horizontal Shell layers 2 Bottom Horizontal Shell layers Printed on the Textured Build Plate of my MK3S+ 95A Overture TPU (I unfortunately only have blue lol) Because I wanted to do as little work as possible to get this thing attached to the spool holder, I simply designed it with super glue/gorilla glue in mind. Slap some adhesive on, line up the spool holder, let them bond, and you should be good to go. If your spool holder isn't bonding well, try roughing up its bottom surface with some sandpaper before gluing. (See Photo #4 for how I weighed it down during the bonding process). There is a .10mm deboss on the bottom surface ( See Photo #2 ). This is by design, and it should print just fine as-is. Do not use supports. This deboss is a bit of a stop-gap to prevent adhesive from oozing out if you accidentally apply too much.
