Description

This is a remix of some parts from TrackTwist . I don't like printing threads horizontally with supports. I find it leaves rough surface artifacts which prevent them from working smoothly. Cutting these at the thread minor would compromise the holder mechanism (and look worse). So I used split printing logic from Underware 2.0 connectors (attributed to SnazzyGreenWarrior) to print these flat on the bed with no supports, while preserving the strength from the horizontal orientation. Attached hinge can be at the top or bottom. I like that the top hinge can keep the halves aligned, but it is more fragile at the top where it is bearing shear force. If the hinge breaks, the two halves won't come apart as long as it's screwed in. Printed using the same parameters as the original (0.2mm layer height, 50% infill). The OpenSCAD source file requires having the original holder parts in the same directory and the BOSL2 library . Both TrackTwist and Underware 2.0 are licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 , so this model inherits that license.
