Description

“Hey dad, I want a cannon so I can shoot bad dreams away”. “That's a great idea!" --Three hours later-- "Here, son, look at this amazing cannon that i found and printed!” “Great! I want seven of them! - but small enough so i can put them on the window ledge." “…” “… seven? oh, OK” --Ten minutes after giving my 4 year old the seven cannons-- “Dad, why the rod breaks?” “Oh, you broke a rod? That's OK, you have six more…Oh, you broke all of the rods…” “Dad, i want a cannon with a rod that doesn't break (throwing the cannons at each other)" “OK, i will see what i can d….” “And i want it purple, and i want it in a triangular shape!” “Triangular? but why? it doesn't make any sense!” “Well, because i said so! And I'm sure you can make it - I told the kids at kindergarten you can make anything!” Me, eyes down, sobbing for the future lost night of sleep: “OK” ---so here it is. a remix of the great Magurro cannon, with a metal rod, and triangular shape. It is smaller, with a reinforced spring (QA by my son) and a bigger handle in the back. i didn't make projectiles because we shoot balls of paper and legos. I printed it successfully with and without supports, but a brim is recommended anyway. Things you need: 3mm threaded rod - 7cm length 1X 3mm nylock nut. Assembly: Screw the nylock as seen in the picture, insert the rod and screw the handle in the other extremity, until it is tensioned against the spring. For this i pull back the spring and grab the rod with vise grips. the threaded handle is very snug, but works really good.
