Description
This is a replacement mounting hook / mounting bracket thing for the panniers on the Triumph Tiger 800. My bike is 2011 - may fit others. It's quick and dirty, but it works! If your existing hook snaps, you'll need to cut the remains off flush with the face of the pannier - a standard wood saw works well and the length makes it easy to keep it paralell with the pannier. You'll need to split the pannier, it's a few small torx screws and then a bunch of glue under where the triumph logo sits - use a heat gun to loosen the glue and then they should come apart with some brute force. The new hook is mounted with epoxy only - I drilled some holes in it to make "expoxy rivets" and used a microfibre filler with my epoxy, seems solid. I printed in PLA, orient the hook so it prints on it's side - use supports. I went with 60% gyroid infill and 8 layers for walls and floor etc. Photo shows the type of pannier it fits and the inside view of how I epoxied it in place.
