Description
The joints I designed are in three parts that come together under pressure to form one piece. For each section of the leg and arm you should print the ball, joint, and arm or leg part. So in total you will print 8 of each piece (24 piece in total for the arms and legs respectively. please not that the incerts are different sizes for the arms and legs). When printing, you'll notice that the “joint” file is missing the top of the boxed stem, this is for printing purposes and should be inserted appropriately into the arm or leg to allow it to sit centered in the cup (see pictures). When pressure fitting the ball and joint in to the leg or arm make sure to only apply enough pressure so that the piece is aligned with the edge or the joint cup or leg edge. To achieve this, I found it easiest to press on a hard surface, once the incert and the cup or leg touch the table together that is all the pressure required. If you want you could use glue but I dont think this is necessary. I realize that this is more complex than the original posters design, but it works far better once assembled.
