Description
I upgraded my Voron V2.4 with a CAN-toolboard. To fully replace the x and y drag chains, it is necessary to relocate the X and Y endstops. For X, there is a mount at the back of the toolhead carriage. For Y, it's common to move the endstop to the B-motor mount (right rear position). There are several relocation mods. They require either to completely rebuild the B motor mount, or they cost buildspace in Y. This mod screws on the regular motor house. You need two longer screws M3x35 for the motors and 2x M2x10 self-tapping screws. There are no modifications to existing parts. Update 25.12.23: Some M2x10 screws have a thicker head, so I added a version with 1mm extra space. BOM: Microswitch, i.e. Omron D2F-5L ("L" is important, it's the springy latch style) 2x M2x10 self-tapping screws to fasten the microswitch 2x M3x35 screws to fasten the endstop bracket on the gantry Printing instructions: Standard Voron setup, 3-4 perimeters, about 25% infill The parts are oriented in the best printing position Use ABS or better, this is a Voron, they get warm :) Assembly: Solder wires to the endstop. Use the two outer pins, don't connect anything to the inner one. If you are unsure about this, check the V2.4/Trident manual, there are instructions for the wiring of the x and y endstop switches. No changes on that procedure. Use 2 M2x10 self-tapping screws to fasten the microswitch in the bracket. Turn out the two front screws for the stepper motor, use M3x35 to attach the bracket. The holes are actually slots for endstop adjustment. I get good results when the bracket is flush with the motor housing. Connect the wires to your MCU. Fasten the bumper to the gantry, use the holes and screws that you used for your cable bridge. The mount was designed for the stock screws.
