XK A310 Biplane Servo Tray

This servo tray is needed if you are swapping out the stock electronics. The tray is lightweight and the servos are rotated 180 degrees to help move the CG forward. To install put a drop of hot melt glue in the crack and stuff it in the crack with a screwdriver blade. To remove, cut the tray into pieces with side cutters and use the tip of a hot melt glue gun to remelt the glue. I recommend using the EMAX ES9251ii servos, they are smaller and lighter. A third version was added which moves the servos all the way up to the bulkhead but custom pushrods are needed. I cut off the ends of the stock push rods and spliced them to a 1mm carbon fiber rod with heatshrink. I rubbed a tiny amount of that forever sticky glue that holds gift cards onto the packaging to the overlapping ends to help keep them from sliding. I used the tightest heat shrink I had, I had to push the parts together before shrinking. You coud possibly use the longer elevator push rod for the rudder, then you would only need to make one custom push rod. I didn't think about that until I was done. The servo tray fits snug against the bulkhead, I did not need any hot melt glue. The space is barely wide enough for the EMAX ES9251ii 8.5mm x 18.5mm servos, there is not enough space for 20mm servos. My plane balances on a credit card at the deep slot just behind the battery hatch, see pic with red arrow. CG behind that is unflyable.
