Yamaha DD-6, DD-7 Digital Drum Machine Battery Cover

This is a battery compartment cover for a Yamaha DD-6 or DD-7 Digital Drum Machine. I could not find a suitable existing 3D model so I designed this one. I had both a DD-6 and DD-7, but only one battery cover which would fit both. I got out my digital caliper, measured the OEM battery cover, and duplicated it for the most part. It took three iterations, but I now have a design that works reliably. The primary difference from the original is that this design has no cavity for foam padding. The thickness of the cover is sufficient to hold the battery securely in place. This may work with other Yamaha digital drum machines that use AA-size batteries. Its primary dimensions are 68.4 mm x 19 mm. This was printed using Creality PETG filament with standard settings using my QIDI Tech Q1 Pro. Organic supports and 40% gyroid infill settings were used. While it is tempting to print this laying flat on the bed, the latch strength will be dependent on layer adhesion and will easily break (in my experience). For this reason, print it on its edge using tree supports for the best results. This was designed using Onshape and is public.
