Description
A look-alike model of the handheld game console written about in Stephen Kings' novel End of Watch. I was thinking of this lil gadget from the Bill Hodges/Holly Gibney series of books by Stephen King the other day and thought why not. The Zappit Commander is produced by Zappit Inc. owned by the now bankrupt Sunshine Solutions. The Zappit is described throughout the book and has these details: charge cord/port, gray 5x3 touch screen, power button, and has WiFi. However its also described as both retro and only 5 years old, looks like an e reader and can fit in a pocket. The one used by Brady Hartsfield is bright pink and another used by Barbara Robinson is yellow. This model uses some "fictional license" and is close to what I imagined in my head while reading the story. The "Gameboy" was also mentioned in relation to the Zappit so I used that as inspiration. What would your Zappit look like? All pieces fit together clean and easy but it has several very small parts. You will want to be comfortable using superglue and placing/pressing with tweezers. The LED part will probably press fit without glue. See pictures for help with assembly. Only a few small supports are used on the front face of the model.
