Description

After some time, the caps (inserts) for mounting the caster wheels in the leg profile of my ZOMBIE Viking Knight LT20 Fabric chair broke. Over two evenings, I learned the basics of modeling in FreeCAD, created several test versions, and now I’m sharing the final iteration of my first project - a replacement insert (sleeve) for installing the chair wheel into the leg profile. To insert the wheel stem, it may be necessary to slightly sand or rework the inner walls of the sleeve, or apply some force. The same applies when fitting the part into the chair leg profile - it is designed to sit tightly to ensure durability and stability. I printed the model using PETG with 100% infill, using a skirt and tree supports (auto settings). I’m also attaching the FreeCAD project file so you can adjust the model to your needs. However, I recommend not smoothing the lower part of the front wall in the model. Due to the print orientation (bottom-up), this area may become weaker and can break during insertion. This can be mitigated by reinforcing the part or printing it at an angle. Good luck everyone!
